Qatar Museums has announced a series of exciting events and exhibitions to be held this month, suitable for all ages. From storytelling to workshops exploring the world of art, visitors can expect to experience a wonderful display of culture and creativity.
On May 4th, the National Museum of Qatar will host the Family Gathering: Storytelling event, where families can explore the Sidra Diaries, a special look into Sidra trees and their importance in Qatari heritage. The event will be held from 5 to 6pm, providing a great opportunity for families to come together and learn about the rich history of the country.
Meanwhile, the Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art will hold a special workshop exploring the magical world of printing. Participants can learn about one of the techniques of printing on paper and create their own prints. The workshop will be held on May 4th from 10:30am - 12pm. The museum will also open on May 6th the Khalid Albaih: Shahid Exhibition, which will feature an interactive audiovisual installation. The exhibition will continue until August 10th, providing visitors with ample time to experience it.
The Museum of Islamic Art will also hold a series of exciting events this month, starting with a workshop on May 11th. Students ages 8 to 11 can learn how to improve their technical skills and develop their creativity and perception through the use of colours and integration. The event will be held from 11 am to 1 pm. On the same day, the museum will also hold another workshop for children ages 5 to 7, where participants can be introduced to the world of art followed by an activity where they will explore different craft mediums. The event will be held from 11 am to 12:30pm. On May 25th, the museum will also hold a workshop on Linocut Printmaking where participants can engage in this linoleum printmaking technique. The event will take place from 12 - 3pm.
