The Organizing Committee for the second edition of the Qatar-UAE Super Cup has announced that preparations are progressing well, with exciting matchups set to take place from January 16 to 19. Building on the tremendous success of the inaugural event, which featured the Qatar-UAE Super Cup and Super Shield games, the 2025 edition has been expanded to feature four trophies, with four clubs from each country competing across three host cities: Doha, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.
Ali Al Salat, Head of Media at the Qatar Football Association (QFA), confirmed that Al Rayyan, runners-up in the Qatar Stars League, will face UAE’s Shabab Al Ahli, who finished second in the ADNOC Professional League, at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on January 16. The teams will battle for the Challenge Shield, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 pm.
The action will continue the following day with the Super Cup match, where Amir Cup runners-up Qatar SC will travel to Dubai to take on Al Nasr, who were runners-up in the President’s Cup, at Al Maktoum Stadium.
On January 18, reigning QSL champions Al Sadd will meet ADNOC Professional League winners Al Wasl at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium at 7:00 pm, with the Super Shield on the line. Finally, the Challenge Cup will see a thrilling clash between Al Wahda, winners of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup, and Qatar Cup champions Al Wakrah at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi on January 19.
