The Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), is now accepting applications for its ninth annual Summer Research Program (SRP). This program offers undergraduate students a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on research within QBRI's cutting-edge laboratories.
Running from May 18 to July 10, 2025, the SRP provides participants with immersive research experience. Students will work closely with leading scientists, gaining practical skills and contributing to ongoing projects. Similar to past iterations, the program allows participants to specialize in their area of interest by working within one of QBRI's research centers: the Diabetes Research Center, the Translational Oncology Research Center, or the Neurological Disorders Research Center.
Participants can expect to contribute to research initiatives spanning various biomedical fields, including biomarker development, stem cell research, breast cancer, autism, and diabetes. Beyond laboratory work, the SRP emphasizes professional development through dedicated seminars and workshops designed to cultivate essential skills for careers in scientific research. The program also fosters networking opportunities, allowing participants to interact with the broader QBRI community and gain exposure to a diverse range of biomedical disciplines.
To be eligible for the SRP, applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program related to biological or medical sciences and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
