Qatar Rail, in collaboration with the Qatar Chess Association, celebrated the winners of the third Qatar Rail Chess Open 2025, held from July 17 to 20 in honor of World Chess Day.
The event supported Qatar Rail’s social responsibility goals by promoting community engagement across the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram networks. It attracted a diverse group of professional and amateur players, with qualifying rounds at the Qatar Chess Training Center and finals at Al Bidda Station.
Bologan Victor won first place with 7.5 points, edging out Syed Abdul Khader on tiebreaks. Zhu Chen placed third, followed by Johan Jobsy and Abel Sajan.
In recognition of its contribution to chess and community development, Qatar Rail received a Certificate of Appreciation from the International Chess Federation (FIDE), accepted by Abdulla Ali Al-Mawlawi, Director of Corporate Communications and Public Relations.
