The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has introduced a new Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) training programme, designed to enhance the effectiveness of human resources within Qatar’s health sector. Developed in alignment with the methodology of the globally recognized Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Foundation, the initiative underscores the Ministry’s dedication to institutional excellence and the strategic development of its workforce.
The CHRP programme targets several core areas of human resource management, including workforce planning, recruitment and selection, talent development, and organizational performance enhancement. It integrates theoretical instruction with hands-on training, ensuring participants gain practical skills that translate directly into improved workplace outcomes.
Ghanim Ibrahim Al Mohannadi, Director of the Human Resources Department at MoPH and Chairperson of the Public Health Sector HR Leadership Committee, described the programme as a transformative step in advancing HR capabilities across the health sector. He highlighted that MoPH is the first government body in Qatar to implement the SHRM framework in such a comprehensive manner, positioning the Ministry as a model for other national institutions.
Eisa Abdulla Al Suwaidi, Assistant Director of the Human Resources Department and Head of the Learning and Development Section, emphasized the programme’s alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030. He noted that investing in human capital is essential for sustainable development and that the initiative reinforces MoPH’s role in cultivating national expertise and promoting institutional excellence.
Programme Structure and Impact
The training is rolled out in multiple phases and includes eight advanced courses. A total of 43 HR professionals from MoPH are participating, with the goal of strengthening their competencies and aligning institutional practices with international standards.
This initiative serves as a strategic platform for HR development and reflects MoPH’s ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive work environment and delivering high-quality healthcare services. It also contributes to Qatar’s broader vision of building a sustainable and innovative future.
