Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, attended the graduation ceremony of Qatar University’s (QU) 49th Health Sector cohort (Class of 2026), which saw 349 students complete their studies across multiple health disciplines.
The graduating class included 130 students from the College of Health Sciences, 94 from the College of Pharmacy, 36 from the College of Nursing, 66 from the College of Medicine, and 23 from the College of Dental Medicine.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone for QU, celebrating both undergraduate and postgraduate achievements within the Health Sector. Notably, it featured the graduation of the first cohort from the College of Nursing, highlighting the university’s ongoing efforts to expand its academic offerings in alignment with Qatar’s healthcare needs.
For the first time, graduates also took part in a Health Oath Recitation, underscoring their transition into professional practice. The pledge emphasized core values such as service, responsibility, compassion, and integrity, reinforcing the ethical standards required in healthcare professions. This moment symbolized not only the completion of their academic journey but also their commitment to delivering responsible and ethical patient care.
The oath further reflected the Health Sector’s leadership role at QU in advancing health professions education. Graduates are trained to pursue careers across a range of fields, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, biomedical sciences, public health, nutrition, and physiotherapy. The university also emphasizes interprofessional education, encouraging students to collaborate and learn across disciplines to enhance healthcare outcomes and serve communities effectively.
Following the ceremony, Her Highness met with a group of top-performing graduates from across the Health Sector colleges, engaging in discussions about their academic experiences and future ambitions.
