Qatar’s Ministry of Justice has rolled out a new electronic platform to manage internal audit operations, marking a key step in its digit al transformation efforts. The launch took place during activities held for Global Internal Audit Awareness Month, in collaboration with the State Audit Bureau.
The event was held under the patronage of HE the Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi and attended by HE Undersecretary Saeed bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi.
According to the ministry, the newly introduced system is designed to enhance governance frameworks, strengthen internal oversight, and streamline audit processes. The platform enables more efficient handling of audit observations and follow-up procedures, aligning with the ministry’s broader strategy to modernise its operations through digital solutions.
Speaking at the launch, Najla Fahed Dalwan, Director of the Internal Audit Department, explained that the system addresses increasing governance demands by replacing manual processes with an integrated digital framework. She noted that the transition aims to improve operational efficiency, ensure greater accuracy, and support more effective risk management.
Dalwan also underscored the significance of Global Internal Audit Awareness Month in promoting transparency, integrity, and sound governance practices across institutions.
During the event, Aisha Khalid Al Darwish, Acting Director of Internal Audit and Risk Oversight at the State Audit Bureau, delivered a presentation highlighting the role of internal audit functions in enhancing institutional performance and reinforcing governance and risk management systems.
An interactive workshop was also organised as part of the programme, focusing on the responsibilities of internal audit departments within government entities and exploring mechanisms to strengthen cooperation between relevant bodies.
