The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has cautioned consumers against purchasing, distributing, or using the slimming product Eatless – Natural Slimming Formula after laboratory testing confirmed the presence of two undeclared pharmaceutical substances, Sibutramine and Phenolphthalein.

According to the Ministry, the product is considered counterfeit due to the inclusion of these substances without disclosure and may pose serious risks to public health. Authorities also noted that the product is being promoted through various social media platforms and is not licensed for use or sale in the State of Qatar.

The MoPH stated that it is working closely with relevant authorities across the country to implement all necessary regulatory, legal, and enforcement measures against those involved in violating public health regulations. These efforts aim to safeguard consumers and maintain public safety.

The Ministry highlighted that Sibutramine is a controlled medicinal substance that was removed from the market in October 2010 because of safety concerns. The substance has been associated with significant health risks, including elevated blood pressure and increased heart rate in some individuals.

Health officials further warned that the compound may be especially dangerous for people with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, or stroke. In addition, sibutramine can interact with other medications, potentially causing serious or even life-threatening complications.

The Ministry urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid using unlicensed health products, particularly those marketed online without proper regulatory approval.
