The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has inaugurated a dedicated Maternal Support Room at its main headquarters, marking a significant step in supporting female employees and advancing maternal and child health initiatives.
According to a statement from the Ministry, the facility was officially opened during an event titled “Supporting Motherhood in the Workplace.” The occasion was attended by representatives from MoPH, Hamad Medical Corporation, and the Primary Health Care Corporation.
The newly established space has been designed to provide mothers with a private and comfortable environment, encouraging breastfeeding and enabling them to better manage both their professional duties and family responsibilities. The initiative underscores the important role workplace settings can play in promoting the well-being of mothers and their children.
MoPH highlighted that the opening of the Maternal Support Room reflects its ongoing efforts to strengthen mother-friendly workplace policies. It also reaffirms the Ministry’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where employees feel valued and cared for.
Through this initiative, the Ministry continues to prioritize the needs of working mothers while aligning with its broader public health goals.
