The Qatar Meteorology Department has forecast the possibility of scattered rainfall across parts of the country from October 11 through October 14, with thunderstorms potentially accompanying rainfall on Tuesday.
In a statement, the department indicated that local rain-bearing clouds are expected to develop over various areas during the period. Weather conditions may vary from light scattered showers to rainfall associated with thunder at times.
The department also noted in a separate social media update that Qatar is currently experiencing a meteorological phenomenon known as AlHaqban, a period marked by the formation of local convective clouds ahead of the Al-Wasmi season.
According to the department, this weather pattern can bring intermittent rainfall and occasional thunderstorms. The cloud formation occurs when sea breezes from the eastern coast converge with sea breezes advancing from the western coast over the country’s central regions.
Meteorologists explained that this interaction may also generate strong downdraft winds, which can lead to blowing dust and reduced horizontal visibility in some areas.
Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and alerts issued by the Qatar Meteorology Department throughout the week.
