HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman held official talks on Tuesday at Al Alam Palace in Muscat.
HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq welcomed HH the Amir and the accompanying Qatari delegation, expressing his hopes for stronger and deeper fraternal ties between the two nations. HH the Amir reciprocated, expressing his pleasure at visiting Oman and emphasizing the long-standing, robust relationship between the two countries, characterized by close cooperation across various fields. He reiterated Qatar's commitment to further developing and expanding these ties.
The discussions focused on bilateral relations and explored avenues for strengthening cooperation, particularly in the economy, investment, education, and research and development sectors. Both leaders emphasized the importance of leveraging investment and trade opportunities to solidify the bond between the two nations and their people, working towards shared interests.
The Qatari delegation included several high-ranking officials, such as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, the Chief of the Amiri Diwan, and several ministers covering portfolios such as Finance, Culture, Sports and Youth, Commerce and Industry, and Foreign Affairs.
On the Omani side, present were the Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, the Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court, the Minister of the Royal Office, the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Finance, and other senior officials.
Following the talks, HM the Sultan hosted a dinner banquet in honor of HH the Amir and the Qatari delegation. The two leaders also exchanged commemorative gifts to mark the occasion.
