The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has unveiled its "Back to School 2026-2027" campaign, featuring a variety of interactive events, educational booths, and professional development workshops designed to prepare students, families, teachers, and school leaders for the upcoming academic year.
At the heart of this year's campaign is the newly introduced "First Step" initiative, launched in collaboration with Rafeeq. The program is aimed at improving the transition into school life for approximately 10,700 first-grade students enrolling in public schools across Qatar for the first time.
As part of its preparations for the new school year, the Ministry will host its Annual Educational Gathering on August 25, 2026, at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The event will bring together educational leaders, teachers, and strategic partners to discuss priorities and emerging trends in education while strengthening communication within the sector.
The gathering will include more than 15 training workshops as well as a panel discussion titled "Humanity First... Authenticity is Strength... and Digitalization is Empowerment." The session will explore the importance of maintaining a human-centered approach to education, reinforcing identity and values in learning environments, and using digital technologies to support educators and students while enhancing the overall educational experience.
The campaign will also feature a range of community-focused events. MoEHE is continuing its partnership with Mowasalat "Karwa" through a dedicated booth at Place Vendôme from August 21 to 27, operating daily from 4pm to 10pm. Visitors can take part in educational and entertainment activities designed for children and families, along with stage performances and interactive experiences aimed at combining learning with fun while strengthening community engagement.
In addition, the Ministry is participating as a strategic partner in Al Meera's "Back to School" initiative, which will run in selected branches from August 15 through September 15. The collaboration is intended to expand outreach efforts and engage families and students during the school preparation period.
MoEHE will also organize activities in Msheireb from August 25 to 27 between 4pm and 9pm. The programme will offer interactive educational and recreational experiences for children and families, providing an engaging atmosphere to celebrate the start of the new school year.
Through the "Back to School 2026-2027" campaign, the Ministry aims to ensure a well-prepared and successful beginning to the academic year. The initiative seeks to strengthen collaboration among educational stakeholders, encourage shared responsibility for learning, and create a positive and motivating environment for students as they return to school
